Wednesday, September 1st

Wednesday morning started with Cindy and me stopping in to visit with the women of “The View.”  The ladies of “The View” were quite a lively group, as Cindy and I were interviewed live for their show.  Cindy and I both agreed that it was a great way to start our day.

Later that afternoon, I visited with the Florida delegation aboard the Intrepid Air & Space Museum.  I had an enjoyable time speaking with the Florida delegates about how crucial their state will be in the outcome of this election.

Then it was off to visit with David Letterman.  He interviewed me for the “Late Show” at the Ed Sullivan Theatre.  It was great to catch up with Dave and the audience was quite inviting.

Before long, we had to leave.  It was off to meet with my friend Larry King for his television show “Larry King Live” at Madison Square Garden.  Larry interviewed me, along with my good friend Bob Dole, about the Convention activities thus far and how the election is shaping up.

After Vice President Cheney addressed the Convention, I went over to Cipriani Restaurant for a great party.  What a fun time we all had and it was terrific to spend some time with supporters and friends.  Some cast members from “Saturday Night Live” were there and it was great to try to get some laughs from the crowd with them.  It’s not often that I get to see so many friends and supporters all together in the same place, so tonight was definitely a special treat.  We talked about what had gone on during the week and how we were all looking forward to watching President Bush accept our Party’s nomination Thursday night.

Stay tuned for the latest installment from the Republican National Convention on Thursday September 2nd.
