Yesterday, Cindy and I arrived in New York City and checked into our hotel. We’re both excited and are really looking forward to next week’s Republican National Convention.

First thing this morning, I took a trip over to Madison Square Garden---where all of the official Convention activities will take place. It’s both exciting and inspiring to see all the hard work, planning, and preparation that goes into a National Convention. Click the top left picture to see the video of my visit.

I had a chance to check out the view from the dais where, on Monday night, I’ll have the opportunity to address the Convention. What an honor!

Next I stopped in to talk with my friend Bob Schieffer. We spoke about the Convention and other important issues of the day in a live interview on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
